People Team · AI Agents

Building AI agents for the people team

Two working demos of the same idea, at two levels of complexity. Both solve a real people-team problem, new hire onboarding, and both follow the same architecture I use for any agent.

1 · TRIGGER
What kicks it off: a question, a goal, an event.
2 · GROUNDING
Answers only from a trusted source, never guesses.
3 · ACTION
Answers, opens a ticket, books a calendar hold.
4 · HANDOFF
Routes anything sensitive to a human.

Onboarding Assistant

BASIC

A grounded Q&A agent. Answers new-hire questions only from policy, cites the section it used, and routes sensitive topics to a human. One question in, one trusted answer out.

Onboarding Orchestrator

ADVANCED

An autonomous multi-step agent. Give it a goal and it plans the steps, calls multiple tools in sequence, shows its reasoning, and assembles a final result, while escalating anything sensitive to a human.

The idea: the same skeleton works across the whole employee lifecycle, onboarding, benefits questions, manager enablement, internal mobility, and across any internal function that fields repetitive questions. Build the pattern once, prove the trust and adoption model, then template it. Agents take the repetitive load so people stay on judgment.
